Drama Thoughts: Death Note

Image
Title:「デスノート」 Run time: 2015.07.05 - 09.13, Sunday 10:30pm I'm so sorry, I've been so lazy with this blog that a post that's supposed to have been finished last month is finally up now. (Sigh) Anyway, I remember back in April, when this drama was first announced, I was freaking out because I thought they were going to mess up my childhood goodness. But what was the result? I got so hooked on it I couldn't stop. I really have to say the producers have done a pretty good job with this, despite all the negative responses. I mean, there are flaws, but I don't care because Light and L is hot. *^O^* I'm going to say it again, Death Note has been with me since I was 10 years old (well, that's the year it was released, lol). Read the manga, seen the anime series like over 10 times, and I love it so much. When the live-action movies came out I didn't mind, although I didn't really like them because Light was ugly (I'm sorry, Fujiwara Tatsuya). B...

ARASHI TURNS 16 YEARS OLD!

Image
Can you believe it's been a year already? Me neither. Doesn't seem like that long ago when Arashi had their 15th Anniversary and those concerts in Hawaii that no one can forget. And of course I wasn't able to attend it, but I feel like I've accomplished many too. Last September, I just moved back to Hong Kong, and didn't know what to do with my life, but still got my very first job. And to me, getting your first job, and being payed ,   is definitely an accomplishment. And at that time, Arashi was celebrating their fifteenth year of being together. Now, I only started to become their fan at around January 2014, so I don't think I have, like, any rights to say anything about them before that, older fans know better. But like any other new interested artists, you look them up and their whole history just to know them more and realise how much you've missed. And if you're reading this, it means you're a fellow Arashi fan too, so I won't go on a ...

Arashi, can you gate-crash my wedding too??

Image
Title:「 愛を叫べ 」 Artist: 嵐 (ARASHI) Release date: 2015.09.02 Well... once I found a groom of course. Lol. So the long-awaited single is finally out and I must say, I'm very impressed with it. Ai wo Sakebe is the theme song of a Zexy CM (a wedding company) and Yumi ni Kakeru is the theme song for Japan Airlines (JAL) for "Fly to 2020" theme which was also designed by Ohno Satoshi. The single also contains three other tracks, Mr. Lonely , It's good to be bad , and I say . I will go into details later. Because I'm actually bothered with this single this time, so I will get onto the single reviewing for once. So Ai wo Sakebe is a wedding song. And it's fun, happy, touching and full of Arashi rainbow goodness. It also has a fun choreography for us to learn! I love Arashi songs with a choreography that lets fans have fun with it too! They even included in the single a special dance video of the whole song, and I was so happy when I saw it because I was h...

Matsumoto Jun: Still Dorky Yet Yasashi at age 32...

Image
The difference between Nino's birthday and Jun's birthday is so close it's amazing. So that I can write a long post on Matsumoto Jun, similar to what I did with Nino not long ago. This is basically an excuse for me to write about Jun. Haha. Matsumoto Jun is no longer the ginger-haired dude from the drama that got me into Arashi, Shitsuren Chocolatier . He is also no longer the permy-haired rich kid, Domyouji Tsukasa, from Hana Yori Dango . To me, he's just the super dorky, hilariously kakkoii, concert master, of the absolutely fabulous group, Arashi. And to me, he always has been. I always sees Jun as an older brother to me. It's weird, because I never see Jun as a lover or a friend sort of way. He has always been my big brother. Which is why everytime I see Jun kiss a girl, I cringe. Like "Ew, Jun, not in front of me, please" kind of cringe. But maybe it's a good thing since there are the members who have made me fall for them... like Nino and Oh...

Why idols should make dreams for themselves in order to make dreams for fans...

Image
This is random but, in the recent news about Ikuta Toma dating that very short-haired policewoman from Ouroboros , Seino Nana, and the news about Horikita Maki getting married, it sort of makes me think... I'm happy for them. You know? And I'm not like other fans where they overreact and feel disappointed. I have always wanted my idols to be happy . Have their own lives, and not for the sake of keeping the idoling fantasy. Because I always felt like true idoling should remain realistic . And not messed up fan mind thinking their idols are always theirs. Because we all know our idols are very, very far away from our grasps. And the only thing we can give them is support, by supporting the choices they make. And even though Arashi has always been more like friends and brothers to me , and that I see them as forever singles , I, too want them to be happy and have real people by their sides for the rest of their lives. People who truely know them, and who truely loves them. An...

ARASHI LIVE TOUR 2014 THE DIGITALIAN DVD (my own)

Image
I finally watched it. After months of waiting. Forty something minutes, lots of money and energy later, then took over six hours to finish all three discs, I finally watched Arashi's THE DIGITALIAN Tour , and... a lot of Arashi backstage crack. I think I'm still hungover on this DVD. But I did find out one thing. I found out why many fans were making such a huge deal out of Aiba's solo, Disco Star . It was hilarious. Just watch the DVD and you will know what I mean. I am not gonna be bothered with the name of the backstage clip on Disc 3 (is it "supinterian"??? I don't know), but it was the best thing ever. I felt like I was actually there with Arashi. Like I was having fun with these bunch of friends while they were doing a concert. They were so full of crack I'm telling you. I mean, we even saw a clip of Aiba showering . What's not to love about that? Also, Ohno trolling Aiba during his solo and imitating Sho's English intro during his solo wa...

Album Thoughts: Ayumi Hamasaki / sixxxxxx

Image
Title:「sixxxxxx」 Artist: 浜崎あゆみ Release date: 2015.08.05 Because the woman likes her face+hand covers for her mini albums. Four months after her last floppy album A ONE , ayumi hamasaki farts out yet another mini album that's, from ayu's usual nonsense, probably a continuation to her 2011 mini album FIVE , called sixxxxxx . I have to make sure I type 6 x's each time I type the title. I don't know what ayu's trying to play here, but it's annoying. It may have some sort of meaning, but it sucks. So bad. So it's totally pointless. But whatever, no matter what she calls her shit these days, it really doesn't make any difference. But I have to say, the album's content, that is, the songs, are so great that I'm actually impressed. She sound so great here. So good to the point I thought she recorded these before her vocals collapsed. Which was, like, before 2011. Lol. But, they were not, so does this mean it's a sign that the old ayu is back...
