All Idols Are The Same... Right?

Image
Okay, besides Arashi because they are exceptional. But also major shading ALERT! Because I'm going on a full frontal rant here, so if whoever is reading is sensitive, don't say I didn't warn you. Recently something has been bugging me. It is that annoying, overly popularized, super overrated Korean boy group known as BTS. They bug me so much it inspired this post. And that says a lot since I haven't blogged since forever. Like, I didn't even finish my Greece trip blogs, like what the heck is wrong with me. What I want to say is, I recently saw some news about BTS, again. And every time I see them, or any idol groups to be honest, I want to gag so bad. Idols can do what they want, I don't care, but just don't let me see them win some huge prestigious awards like they deserve them because they don't. So, anyway, I got annoyed and decided to find out why BTS is what they are. And it says on their Wikipedia page that they sing about personal and soci

ARASHI HIATUS: My Thoughts

Image
I can't believe it took a hiatus announcement for me to blog again. I have not blogged about Arashi for a long time. Reason, life. But it also proofs that I take Arashi for granted every day, not knowing I will be losing them so soon. On Sunday, 27th of January, it went on just like any other day. What I did not remember was that Arashi is my muse. My motivation in life. So I updated myself on anything new from them like I usually do every few hours. And then I saw the most shocking news ever. Arashi will be going on hiatus from the 31st of December, 2020. I remember my initial reaction. I was surprised I wasn't as shocked as I thought I would be. Maybe because deep down I knew something like this will happen sooner or later. And they couldn't have picked the most perfect timing for the announcement. They are in their 20th year, with Tokyo 2020 next year, for us all to prepare ourselves for whatever dark void is coming afterwards. Because a world without Arashi is a w

I Got Robbed In Greece! [Part 2]

Here was Part 1 .   March 30, 2018 On our third day in Athens, my sister G and I traveled to Kifissia. But so many things happened on this day. We checked out of our hotel in Syntagma. I had my camera in my jumper pocket so I put my green-cased mobile phone inside my backpack, right on the top for convenience. We went back to the Monastiraki Market to buy souvenirs. We took the train to Piraeus Station, where we visited the Electric Railways Museum inside the station. They literally has a museum inside their train station. And it has free entrance! The guy in it told us not to take photos. There was not a single other person in the entire museum. Not that it's big or anything. But there were stairs leading up to other parts of the place and G was holding her phone. The guy working there got paranoid for some reason and kept ordering us not to take photos and it got awkward because he kept staring at us. So we got out of there. G and I went out of the station to chec

I Got Robbed In Greece! [Part 1]

In March this year, my sister G (that is literally what I call her), and I went on a 2-week trip to Greece. The title of this post is what I have decided to name this trip. I feel the two weeks I have spent in such a foreign country has changed me. As I have read in a book shop in Athens International Airport, "The world is like a book. For those who do not travel, they only read one page.", travelling and just seeing the world in a different perspective really changes a person's point of view in not only the world but life itself. G and I planned this trip for half a year before we actually decided to go. My sister had never went on holiday abroad after she moved back to Hong Kong. I, on the other hand, went on a tour around Europe then Hokkaido, Japan a few years later, so I have some experiences of what to expect. The woman did not believe me when I told her "Things sometimes would not go as you expect" , until she learnt it the hard way... March 27&a

Album Thoughts: ARASHI / 「untitled」

Image
Title:「untitled」 Artist: 嵐 Release date: 2017.10.18 Arashi has released another original album in October, per usual, and they went for the Power of the Paradise + Everything cover that look more like singles than an album. I'm still trying to grasp the fact that it has been a year since Are You Happy? , which was not that long ago. Dang, time goes fast when you're an adult. When they first revealed the album title as "untitled" I literally thought it was because they have not yet revealed the title just like what everybody else thought until they confirmed it and I flipped. I can still remember my absolute disbelief when reality hit me. Titling something untitled is like naming something unnamed. It is the lamest of the lamest titles you can ever think of. It is even worst than that lame-ass hot mess ayumi hamasaki naming her albums five and six, with the 6 x's! What happened to awesome titles like The Digitalian ?? And don't give me the Ar

Drama Thoughts: Code Blue series

Image
Title:「コード・ブルー -ドクターヘリ緊急救命-」 If you are looking for an awesome medical drama with an epic cast and characters, this is the one. This series is one of those rare dramas that give the viewers everything they want. Deep storyline, character development, emotional punch, intensity, amazing soundtrack, plus a little bit of romance. The important thing is that this drama is humble and it's not in your face, which I think it is one of the reasons why this drama is so great. Season 1 (2008) Season 2 (2010)  Season 3 (2017) Code Blue season one focuses on four young doctors, Aizawa Kosaku, Shiraishi Megumi, Hiyama Mihoko and Fujigawa Kazuo, of the fellowship (trainee program) sent to Shohoku Lifesaving Center of Shoyo Univ Hokubu Hospital to train to become flight doctors of the emergency medical services. What I love is that it mainly focuses on the personal development of our main characters rather than the medical cases. It was that raw and emotional process of watchi

Endless Ranting on Japanese Idols...

Image
*immense shading alert!* Recently, there were news about the bitch army, AKB48, surpassing Ayumi Hamasaki's total sales, gaining the top spot as the best-selling female artist in the history of Japan. Firstly, it is definitely not history . Secondly, it is definitely not artist . I know Oricon only counts physical CD sales (national) to determine general sales, and they don't give crap whether they are solo or a group, but let me tell you why this is wrong on so many levels. I mean, I do support the whole CDs-only thing, but idols are not artists, so what the heck are they saying? Ayu did most of the work on her own, as an artist in general. She produced, composed and written her songs. She create concerts in her own way. That's an artist. What did AKB do? Yeah, you could argue they "worked hard". But, bitch, everybody works hard. It's just whether your efforts had any meaning. And Ayu, she is definitely a legend in her own right. She totally deserve he
